The paintings of F.M. Straw

Paula Judson, great granddaughter of Frederick Martin Straw, kindly donated the book she compiled on the paintings of  F.M.Straw (1857 – 1938) to Lorne Historical Society. He was born in Brunswick excelling as an artist at a young age, producing many beautiful paintings depicting Lorne and the Otway Ranges. As a young man he travelled to Lorne, staying with the Mountjoy family. On a trek up the Erskine River with the Mountjoy brothers,  they came across a waterfall tumbling over a sheer cliff as it entered the main stream.
