The original old butchers’ shop at 112 Mountjoy Parade, built by Dormans and later owned by Alsop brothers, also the adjoining building which had been used by Mr. George & Mrs. Ann Burton as a clothes shop and later the TAB, finally became the “Clothes Machine” shop. This was finally demolished in May to make way for a development of new shops with flats above, the original butcher shop façade being kept.
